Entertaiment can be anything that elicits a feeling of pleasure, amusement or enjoyment, from reading a novel to solving a crossword puzzle to attending a dance performance or musical. It also encompasses sports and games, watching television or movies, and creating or appreciating visual art. Entertainment is a form of recreation that often hits on themes our brains were evolved to deeply respond to in order to understand our world. It can stimulate the brain to release seratonin, dopamine and other chemicals, causing us to feel a deep sense of pleasure and euphoria, in which we forget our problems and wish they would just go away forever.
